An illustrated history of Pangbourne Colelge written by Robin Knight has now gone to the printers and will be published in March, 2016.

The book — 192pp including 160 illustrations and 12 chapters — is timed to appear as the College begins to celebrate its centenary in 2016-17.

Authorised by the Berkshire-based school, the work traces the unusual origins of the College from its foundation in 1917 by the shipowning Devitt family as a training establishment for officers in the Merchant and Royal Navy to its present incarnation as a “school with a difference” that educates 425 boys and girls, retains its naval uniform and much of its founders’ ethos and values while also preparing today’s teenagers for university and a positive role in society.
